  • What is a carnet?

    A Carnet, also known as ATA Carnet (pronounced kar-nay), is a physical customs document, which serves as a temporary passport for goods. It enables hassle-free customs clearance in a whopping 87 countries by exempting duty and import taxes on goods that are meant for re-exportation within 12 months* of their arrival.

    It is generally for trade fairs or exhibitions, or for professional equipment and samples.

  • How quickly can an ATA Carnet be created?

    We can provide a 24-hour standard service, to facilitate our urgent carnets we have in house printing for a faster turnaround, and a courier service can be arranged.

  • What information do I require for a ATA Carnet?

    Details of the Carnet holder (company that legally owns the goods and is responsible for payment of any duties to foreign Customs), details of the person(s) who will be travelling with the goods, intended use of the goods, and finally list of goods taken. All the goods must be individually itemised with each item having its specific description (i.e., make, serial number), weight and value to facilitate Customs identification and prevent substitution of goods.

  • How many people can I list in THE REPRESENTED BY box B on the ATA carnet?

    You can have as many names as you need.

  • How many Items can I list on an ATA carnet?

    You can list as many items as you require on an ATA Carnet.  The pages can be extended to facilitate large carnets.

  • Can a carnet be extended?

    A Carnet can be extended, with permission from the authorising body and if the carnet is still valid.
